Haiti's massive deforestation has in turn led to massive erosion and frequent flash floods that descend quickly through ravines carved by past floods, like this one in the Dupont neighborhood of Port-au-Prince, Haiti. The flash floods wash away anything in their path, including cars, animals and people.
